We turn product ideas into reality

ANALYZE has proven expertise in the deformulation, reverse engineering and competitive analyses of materials and finished products. Deformulation is simply the identification and quantification of the chemical constituents that make up a material or formulated product. Clients may want to know the composition of products for a variety of reasons; e.g., safe handling of a process chemical by production workers, verification that a product contains the ingredients claimed by the manufacturer, patent interference litigation and a desire to keep an eye on the competition.

ANALYZE has developed a multi-stage approach that provides the client with the desired information at clearly defined technical and business milestones. The well-set expectations of this time-proven process result in successful projects and pleased clients.

Efficient product deformulation requires a blend of chemical intuition/knowledge, laboratory skill, instrumentation, product development experience, common sense and enjoyment of puzzle-solving.

A selection of products we have deformulated is listed below:

  • Adhesives and Coatings Used in Medical Devices
  • Plating Resists
  • UV Cured Coatings
  • Silicone / Carbonate Copolymer
  • Flexible Circuit Laminating Adhesive
  • Composite Parts
  • Printing Inks
  • Thermoset Adhesives
  • Resist Strippers
  • Packaging Film Surface Treatments
  • Graphic Arts Coatings
  • Fingernail Cosmetics
  • Skin Lotions
  • Oral Mouth Wash
  • Fragrance and Flavors
  • Adhesive Based Rodent Trap
  • Liquid Detergents

Using deformulation results, ANALYZE can also source the raw materials, reformulate and process the product to allow comparison to the target. If desired, ANALYZE can also make modifications to the formulation for a variety of reasons; e.g., increased ease of manufacture, improved performance and enhanced safety.
