ANALYZE Exhibits at Medical Design & Manufacturing

ANALYZE extends its support to companies providing products and services to the healthcare industry by exhibiting at MD&M West 2008. The exposition is being held January 29-31, 2008 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

ANALYZE is a custom chemical technology company which provides organic materials problem solving and characterization services to help medical device and instrumentation companies manufacture their products more successfully and support their submissions to regulatory agencies, performs innovative materials R&D to modify/invent specialty products to suit evolving customer needs and consistently manufactures specialty chemical products per ISO 9001:2000 guidelines.

to learn how ANALYZE has helped ensure product performance for medical devices.

EQUIPMENT INVESTMENT UPDATE

ANALYZE Acquires UV Cure System

ANALYZE has acquired an American Ultraviolet Company Mini Conveyor UV Cure System for the UV curing of photosensitive inks, coatings and adhesives. This bench top system will be used for consulting projects, product development/prototyping and production. The unit can cure substrates up to six inches in width using a 300 w/in mercury vapor lamp with three different lamp output settings and continuously variable web speeds. This system incorporates the same components as larger American Ultraviolet systems used in high volume production facilities. An International Light Inc. Radiometer/Photometer is used to measure the lamp’s radiation incident on the substrate.

ANALYZE Acquires Processing Equipment For Highly Filled Adhesive, Coating And Composite Materials

ANALYZE has acquired a three-roll mill and jacketed two-gallon Ross double planetary mixer with vacuum and ram discharge capabilities. ANALYZE can formulate and process highly filled and high viscosity adhesive, coating and composite materials. This equipment is being used to develop new materials in small volumes that can then be readily scaled to larger volumes using the same type of double planetary mixers. The scale of the equipment is also ideal to make small batches of material to build prototype parts and to recreate materials which are no longer available commercially ('retro-manufacture').

ANALYZE CO-SPONSORS MEDICAL ELECTRONICS SYMPOSIUM

For the second year, ANALYZE is co-sponsored MEPTEC's Annual Medical Electronics Symposium at the Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ on September 25th. The theme of this one day event was "Growth Opportunities for Medical Microelectronics". Speakers from industry and academe described leading edge work in packaging medical electronics, novel diagnostic devices and wireless transfer of information from implanted sensors. Additional symposium information and presentation abstracts can be obtained at www.meptec.org.

ATF EXPLOSIVES PERMIT

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has renewed ANALYZE's permit to receive, store and analyze the chemical compositions of energetic materials used in rockets, munitions, air bags and pyrotechnics. ANALYZE has supported the energetic, polymer and composite materials work of many defense, aerospace and airbag manufacturers over the past 20 years. We have identified binder resins, performed stabilizer analyses, determined decomposition temperatures, identified contamination, partnered with manufacturers on long term munitions stability testing programs and developed QC methodology for incoming inspections of raw materials and finished goods.

EQUIPMENT INVESTMENT UPDATE

ANALYZE Invests in New Laboratory Instrumentation

In its continuing desire to be at the cutting edge of instrumentation, ANALYZE acquired Agilent 6890N GC, Agilent 5975B inert XL MSD, Gerstel TDS 3 Thermal Desorption/Pyrolysis Inlet System and the Wiley 7th/NIST 2005 Reference Library of 461K Mass Spectra. This instrumentation will be dedicated to thermal desorption, dynamic headspace and pyrolysis of solids. The combination of capillary gas chromatography to separate the off-gases and/or pyrolysis products that arise from heating a solid or very low vapor pressure liquid in the specialized inlet system with a very sensitive mass selective detector allows identification of unknown odors, residual monomers/solvents and crosslinked elastomers, coatings and adhesives.

At the same time, ANALYZE also upgraded its TA Q1000 Modulated DSC to a Q2000 research grade instrument with improved sensitivity to detect extremely small and close thermal transitions in liquids and solids.

Automated Filling Line

ANALYZE’s capability to efficiently and cost effectively fill client orders for water-based specialty products which have a wide range of viscosities has been increased dramatically with the delivery of a KAPS-ALL automated filling line. This multi-component line has a bottle unscrambler, ten-head filling station, capping machine, labeling station and inkjet coder. This line fills one oz to one gal containers. All bottles are dated and batch coded for traceability. Our packaging area also has the capability for shrink wrap and security sealing.
